Original Post About This Event Below:

If you LOVE ART and will be in Ogunquit, Maine anytime between Wednesday August 2 through Saturday 5 — you’d be CRAZY to miss out on participating in this major Maine art event!

The Barn Gallery at the corner of Shore Road and Bourne Lane in Ogunquit will be the location of the Ogunquit Art Association’s 66th Annual Art Auction on Saturday, August 5 2017. Doors open at 6 p.m. and bidding begins at 7 p.m.

The excitement always builds towards a fun-to-witness cultural frenzy as Auctioneer Hap Moore introduces coveted paintings, graphics, photographs, and sculpture by members of the Ogunquit Art Association, the area’s oldest professional artists organization.

But it doesn’t ALL happen on Saturday — the action begins even earlier! Visit the Barn Gallery to preview the work, pick an artist-designed bid card or leave a Silent Bid Wednesday, August 2 through Friday, August 4 from 11 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday, August 5 from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Participating OAA artists, many with national and international reputations, have created original, one-of-a-kind bid cards on sale at the Gallery for $30. A bid card purchase includes auction admission, catalog and refreshments. Plain bid cards for admission are available for $5.

Some event parking is available in the Barn Gallery parking lot. Auction attendees are encouraged to carpool or park in the Obed’s Lane parking lot behind the Dunaway Center. It is a short trolley ride or a pleasant 10-minute walk from there to the Gallery.

Ogunquit Barometer’s Eric Taubert (who – in full disclosure – happens to be a member of the Ogunquit Art Association, who has donated a couple of his photos to be auctioned for the benefit of the Barn Gallery) pulled a few strings to get a sneak-peek at the items up for auction by many other OAA members and took photos of a wide selection of them. And there are even more amazing works to see at the Barn Gallery — which are not visible here!
