John Ross Palmer Unveils New Ogunquit-Inspired Art During a Live Painting Event at the Hartwell House Inn

by Eric Taubert

There’s nothing like a summertime evening of art and fun near the Perkins Cove area of Ogunquit, Maine.

On Thursday, August 18th,  Houston-based artist John Ross Palmer held an art unveiling and live painting demonstration at the Hartwell House Inn on Shore Road in Ogunquit.

Palmer was showing some new Ogunquit-inspired work at the Hartwell House Inn Gallery as part of the ongoing ‘Artist in Residence‘ program at the Inn.

Palmer’s new work, primarily influenced by the scenery and culture of Perkins Cove (the original site of the Ogunquit Art Colony) was well-received by the crowd who gathered in the front yard of the Hartwell House Inn to view the live painting demonstration and hear Palmer convey some of the stories from his recent art adventures in Cuba (see related video below).

Several pieces of Palmer’s art were sold during the Hartwell House Inn Gallery exhibition. Two of Palmer’s collectors from Houston even made the trip up to this Ogunquit event.

Here are a few images from the exhibition and painting demonstration:
